Sometimes not reaching your goal can help you reach your goal. The founder of June Lake Brewing was a friend from our SIMPLE Mobile days and since we’d worked in the beer and hospitaliy worlds multiple times before (Guinness, Primo, etc.), we were eager to help them out.
While their Kickstarter campaign didn’t generate quite the buzz that Modern Times’ did (remember, what worked last week in marketing may not work tomorrow), it did help them generate enough awareness to secure funding outside that avenue and later, some great national attention (Thrillist anyone?) for a small town brewery that is packed most days it’s open.
